Sometimes a straw is only a straw and sometimes it’s an entertaining cat toy.
Sometimes authors are like cats. We look for different ways to write and different tools to help our process. Something as simple as a new version of Word reading what I wrote out loud helps me catch mistakes. ❓What has been your straw to use differently?

What does hurkle-durkle mean? If you search your internet browser, the word hurkle-durkle is a real word. Some social media influencer made it popular. The 3 Fuzzy Solos do it all the time and if they're doing it on me, I'm stuck and have to do it too, but only on a weekend. I secretly wish I was either a spoiled cat or every day was Saturday. Okay, I only need a way to pay bills and get in shape while I hurkle-durkle. My only idea for accomplishing that is to get a clone. Know where I can find one? According to the Scotsman: While it has fallen out of use, to hurkle-durkle is "to lie in bed or lounge about when one should be up and about". It is closely tied with the word hurkle, which means to hunker - or sit huddled - in a crouched position for warmth, which makes hurkle-durkle the perfect word for the cold winter months. RealSimple says: Hurkle-durkle means to lounge in bed past the point when it's time to get up. Originating in Scotland, the earliest reference is from an 1808 version of An Etymological Dictionary of the Scottish Language The 3 Fuzzy Solos started a YouTube channel and you can find their videos on there now too.
My 3 Fuzzy Solos are shy around strangers. Therefore, they’re just like their Mommy, a weird, socially awkward introvert who is more comfortable with books. I love them. Saying I tolerate them isn’t even close to true (see Instagram reel). I’m sure many only tolerate me, but I can’t imagine a life without my fur babies.
